Bulawayo Traffic Lights Escape

I cannot remember the reason for our travel that day but I was driving my car on this occasion. We had approached a set of traffic lights and I slowed down and came to a stop. There was a few seconds silence before Amanda tells me the lights are green. Oh, could have sworn they were red – as I am about to pull away a car races through the lights from the passenger side. The roads in Bulawayo City are very wide. They were made to allow a wagon and a full span of oxen to turn around in the street. A span is 8 pairs. Because of the width of the street, if I had proceeded thinking the lights were green, I would have been in the middle of the intersection. My (future) wife would be dead today if that speeding vehicle had hit the passenger side of my car.
